Course
Strata Building Management: A Hands-On Training Course
How to run an Australian strata building as its building manager or caretaker: the law in each state, maintenance, safety, contractors and people.
General education, not legal advice. Strata law is different in every state and territory and it changes often (NSW and Victoria both changed theirs in 2025 and 2026), so check the current Act and your own agreement, and get advice before acting on anything here.

About the job
- For building managers, caretakers and onsite managers, and anyone thinking of becoming one
- Covers all eight states and territories: each has its own Act, names and tribunal
- Sixteen core lessons, six of them on maintenance, repairs and working with tradespeople, where most of the trouble in a building starts
- Then an in-depth elective for your own state or territory, plus a second Queensland elective on management rights
- Also: the law and your agreement, the committee, fire safety, WHS, residents, security, emergencies and getting started
- Each lesson labels what the law requires, what is industry practice and what is a practitioner tip
- A running example building, Banksia Court, and an on-the-job task in every lesson
